Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Nomad Repairs, the shop software made by Nomad Tech Repairs of Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself and your shop.
Your account
Keep your login details private and make sure the information you give us is accurate. The shop owner is responsible for the staff logins they add and for what's done under the shop's account.
Plans and billing
- Free month: Every new shop gets a free first month of Pro (30 days), with no card needed. During it, built-in texting includes 100 texts.
- Free includes up to 30 new repairs a month and one login. Some features (texting, email order import, website tools and reports) need Pro.
- Pro is billed monthly or yearly in Canadian dollars through Stripe, at the price shown with no sales tax added. It renews automatically until you cancel.
- Founding pricing is CA$25 a month to start and always stays below the regular Pro price while that subscription stays active. Like our other prices, it can change with notice (see below). If it's cancelled, later subscriptions are at the regular price.
- You can cancel any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial periods unless the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a short time; after that the shop moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, but Free limits apply.
- Free time on Pro, such as a free first month, a referral month or a promotion, ends on the date shown in Settings → Plan & billing. After that the shop moves to Free unless it has subscribed. If you subscribe during free time, billing starts when the free time ends.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email. Changes apply from your next renewal.
Your data
Your shop's data belongs to your shop. You can export it at any time. You're responsible for having your customers' permission to store their information and to contact them, including following the anti-spam and texting laws where your shop and customers are (for example Canada's CASL, the US TCPA and carrier rules, the UK's PECR and UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, Australia's Spam Act and New Zealand's Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
Acceptable use
Don't use Nomad Repairs to break the law, send spam, store information you have no right to, try to reach another shop's data, or disrupt the service. Texts are sent through Twilio and must follow Twilio's rules. Pro includes a shop texting number with 500 texts a month, and Pro Plus 3,000 texts a month and an optional second number. Texts are counted the way carriers bill them: a long message can count as two or three; if you connect your own Twilio account instead, you pay Twilio directly for those texts.
Shops outside Canada
Nomad Repairs can be used by shops in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Subscriptions are charged in Canadian dollars; your card provider converts the amount and may charge a conversion fee. You're responsible for the tax rate and tax details you put on your own invoices, and for following the laws that apply to your shop. Built-in texting numbers are Canadian and are offered to shops in Canada; elsewhere you can connect your own Twilio account, and you're responsible for any registration your carrier or Twilio requires (such as A2P 10DLC in the US).
Service and support
We work to keep Nomad Repairs running and backed up, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features over time. Updates are usually put out in quiet hours and can make the app unavailable for a minute or so; anything being saved at that moment is sent again once it's back. Help is available from Settings → Help & support.
Limits on liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
Ending your account
You can stop using the service at any time. The shop owner can delete the shop from Settings, which needs the password, the shop's name and the two-step login code if it's on. Deleting is permanent and can't be undone: the subscription is cancelled, the texting number is released and every record and backup is removed, so export first if you want a copy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, after giving notice where reasonable.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada that apply there. If we change them we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app about important changes; using the service after that means you accept them.
